A Week with Gramma Debbie

This is my first posting about one of my three granddaughters, Willa. I'm going to try to insert a picture but will not guarantee that I'll be successful; I'm a computer idiot! I was lucky enough to have Willa, 3+ years old, four (4) days last week while mommy and daddy had to return to work a few weeks before Little Miss Willa will start her new "school". Day One: we had a picnic lunch at Forest Park and visited the zoo. We picked up food from Taco Bell (her choice) and drove to the zoo. Willa and I took our food and blanket to a nice shady spot under a huge tree! As I was serving lunch (ya know; pulling out the food containers from the Taco Bell bag) I realized I had forgotten to pick up dinner ware (plastic spoons and forks). One of Willa's food choices was "cheesy potatoes" (with lots of melted cheese and sour cream). Well, ya can't eat cheesy potatoes without a spoon or fork! I'd like to post so many pictures but can't....if you could see the picture of her when I told her "THEY" forgot to give me spoons and forks (of course we all know that I should have been the one to remember to pick up spoons and forks) you would laugh so hard at her expression! She gently slapped her forehead with her hand and had a look on her face that I interpreted as saying "how could they be so stupid to forget to put spoons and forks in our bag....and how am I going to each my cheesy potatoes without a fork?". It was so cute! So I ended up actually picking up the cheesy potatoes with my fingers and putting the potatoes in her mouth! After our "picnic" we WALKED over to the zoo. We had a great time....she loves the ZOO! Day Two: I suggested we go to the Botanical Gardens....she suggested we go to the ZOO! So back to the zoo we went! DAY THREE: We went to Border's book store. She loves to hear stories! I read her a few books then she saw some stuffed animals and started using her imagination to create a conversation between two different stuffed animals. She loved being at the store; it was fun to see her "make believing"! Day Four (a Friday): Willa had been participating in a Day Camp sponsored through COCA each morning during this week. This was the day that the Day Camp was having their "performance" of an "Under the Sea" play. Willa's role was a "hard coral". She was so cute and really "into" her part! At the end of the play (performance) the class took a "bow". She was the only one that "bowed" sooooo long! She was "really into the moment"! I enjoyed the time I got to spend with her!
